YEARS of industry collaboration
A partnership that works
In 1995 the Laborers’ District Council of Ohio and the Ohio Contractors Association laid the groundwork for Ohio LECET. The concept was one of cooperation, that Laborers and Union Contractors had to find ways to promote the highway construction industry and the role played by Union contractors and Union Laborers.
National LECET
LECET works to identify new and emerging markets and position LIUNA and its signatory contractors to capitalize on those opportunities. It is one of the three funds that make up LIUNA’s Tri-Funds, organizations uniquely established to assist in expanding LIUNA’s market share. LECET, the LIUNA Training and Education Fund (LIUNA Training), and the Laborers’ Health and Safety Fund of North America (LHSFNA) develop the marketing, training, and health and safety programs that give LIUNA a competitive edge.
Infrastructure
Ohio LECET is a joint project of Ohio-based locals of the Laborers' International Union of North America (LIUNA) and the signatory contractors of the Ohio Contractors Association (OCA). We are labor and management working together to promote policies to ensure our infrastructure is built safely and cost-effectively across Ohio through outreach and advocacy for worker safety and fair contracting. Information is key to the Ohio LECET mission. Our website is designed for our contractors, workers and government officials to provide information on the benefits of union labor, the rights of workers and contractors and factual information on best practices to build and maintain our infrastructure.
